Nail fixtures in arrangements
With the arrival of autumn branches are covered with beautiful coloured leaves begging to be displayed in an arrangement.
My students have studied various methods of supporting the material so I introduced them to another technique:- nail fixtures. This style of support holds the material in place with a single nail. The advantage of a nail fixture over wiring is being able to position the material in a small opening. If the branches are wired together you cannot close the cut ends together to fit into the opening. A nail allows the branches to swing together to insert into the opening then gently opened up into the desired position. Once the main branches are in place complete the arrangement
