Seasonal Material - definitely out of season

Agapanthus are a wonderful material to work with. They offer a range of options from flower heads in bud, in full bloom, when the flowers turn to seeds or even when all the seeds are removed to create spiky forms.

Using this material is often associated to the summer months where you will find seas of blue flowers but with the weather ‘upside down’ I have been able to find the Agapanthus flowering along with lots of dried flower heads

In this work I have massed several heads in a long low container with repeating loops of Lomandra to create movement.
