Something different

Another of my passions is painting, whether sumi-e or watercolours and I often feel starved of time to sit down to paint.

With the lead up to Christmas, which is always frantic especially out on the roads so the best place to be is sitting quietly and painting. In doing so one realises how quickly you lose the knack of mixing colours to obtain the colour tones etc. It is just like ikebana – colours are so important and there is a large section in Textbook #3 on colour plus it is one of the main elements of Sogetsu (Line, Colour and Mass).

Today, I attempted to paint Oriental Lilies, which is a lot harder than first thought, but I did enjoy the challenge. To view other images of my watercolour paintings, click on Galleries’, then ‘Other Objects’
